The Web App Experience – Feature-Rich and Customizable
The FieldEdge web app offers a comprehensive solution for efficiently managing field service operations. It combines a feature-rich dashboard with plenty of customization options.
It’s designed to be accessible and easy to use, no matter your technical expertise, so teams can quickly adapt it to daily tasks and activities. However, because the dashboard has plenty of features, it may still take some getting used to.
FieldEdge has a dynamic dispatch dashboard where you can see all assigned, unassigned, and finished work orders. The map-based scheduling also makes job assignments easy by basing it on technicians’ skills and location.
The software feeds data regarding their real-time status, whether they’re traveling or working or if work is pending or completed. This allows you to make better dispatch decisions while keeping customers updated.
FieldEdge is easy to use and has an overall clean and simple look. The interface may not be that sophisticated, but every piece of information on the screen is useful.
The Mobile Experience – Designed for Productivity
FieldEdge’s web app is complemented by a mobile app connecting field technicians to the office. Like the web app, the mobile app is built to enhance efficiency and productivity in the field.
It gives technicians a quick peek at the day’s work, the next job, and the total number of jobs for their scheduled shifts. They can check the work order, customer history, and service agreements and provide real-time updates to the office.
They can access key job management features while traveling to a job site. Its integrated mapping and routing features also help them navigate efficiently to assigned locations.
The app also allows technicians to collect necessary information for custom forms and checklists during service calls.
They can generate and present quotations on-site, take photos, attach them to customer records for documentation purposes, and accept payments via mobile devices.
Overall, the mobile app is a handy tool that helps reduce time spent on admin tasks while enhancing employee productivity and service delivery. However, technical issues, glitches, and freezing may affect your mobile experience.

You can also view marketing profitability and which marketing channels and expenses are converting to actual sales.
Customer Management
FieldEdge offers customer management tools to streamline client interactions and enhance the quality of your service.
From the dashboard, you can review all work performed, quotations generated for the customer, and what equipment they use.
This is also where you can see picture attachments from technicians for a more detailed view of the equipment, installations, and maintenance issues. It’s also helpful to technicians who need to check specific service histories and notes and make job-specific recommendations.
Service Agreements
With FieldEdge, you can easily track your service agreements so you’ll know which ones are about to expire so you can follow up with your customers.
Follow-ups can be done by automatically scheduling service reminders via email, call, or text.

Customers can pay their invoices with FieldEdge’s mobile payments option. You can also collect card or check payments and use multiple types of payments in one invoice.
Integrating Other Business Apps With FieldEdge
FieldEdge offers a QuickBooks integration to streamline financial management for field service businesses.
It simplifies your accounting processes and offers real-time synchronization and automated data transfers for all your customer information and financial data.
Download and run a sync tool from FieldEdge to set up the integration. This tool facilitates the connection between FieldEdge and QuickBooks.
The sync tool must be left running to ensure continuous data transfer between the applications and prevent data loss.
With its customizable sync options, you can enjoy more flexibility in sharing data and syncing invoices, customers, or both.
While the integration offers many benefits, some users have reported issues with syncing specific data, such as invoice line item descriptions.
Additionally, continuously running the sync tool may be challenging for some businesses, especially if the desktop where it’s installed is often restarted or shut down.

FieldEdge Reviews
If you look up FieldEdge reviews online, you will mostly find unsatisfactory ones on the App Store and the Play Store. It only received a 1.9 rating on the App Store from over 300 reviews and a 2.0 rating on the Play Store from over 200 reviews.
However, it posted a higher rating of 4.2 from over 300 reviews on Capterra. Take a look at some of the reviews below.

iOS user TEE tech92 has a one-star rating because the app frequently crashes and has major bugs in its main functionalities.
Frustrating ⭐
The application has a lot of bugs that are high severity and high priority. The application crashes at least once a day. It is not user-friendly because of this. After writing a long custom quote and clicking on ‘Save,’ I lost all the information more times than I could count, or the application crashed. Once happened while I was with a customer, so I looked very unprofessional in the customer’s eyes because I had to go again through the list to add everything to the quote. Also, it is very frustrating to lose all the information. The application has major bugs in the main functionalities. The application is not tested properly since a lot of bugs and crashes are very easy to reproduce.
Android user Rob Elolf also gave it a one-star rating because of numerous unresolved issues, including issues with software integrations.
⭐
We migrated from ESC to FieldEdge and hoped for a smooth (as smooth as possible) transition since they are owned by the same company. So far, we have had numerous issues that have gone mostly unanswered or found no workaround. Also, be aware that when they tell you it integrates with another software platform, it would be more accurate to say “partly integrates.” If you use Profit Rhino, be aware of this. We also don’t have the functionality to review company and departmental performance.
Jacki W. shared how FieldEdge helps them operate their business efficiently and how online support has been fast and attentive.
We find FieldEdge essential to operate our business efficiently ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Pros: We like the ease of using the software. New software upgrades seem very seamless. The online support is phenomenal! Support is always friendly, attentive, patient, thorough, and fast! They stick with me and follow through until my issue is resolved or my questions are answered.Cons: I used to be able to manage the desktop software from my phone just by logging into my office account. It doesn’t work anymore. I know it was likely not designed that way, but it was extremely helpful when I was outside the office to hop in and do almost anything I needed to! Please correct it 🙂
Our Score (and Why We Chose It)
While offering comprehensive field service management features, FieldEdge has several disadvantages that you should also consider.
For instance, if you’re a small business with a limited budget, the subscription cost can be significant. You must also devote time for training to learn how all the features work. The QuickBooks integration is also not always smooth.
Moreover, users report difficulties getting technical support during the initial setup and implementation phase.
Alternatives to FieldEdge
FieldEdge offers many features to help any business improve its daily operations. But if you feel like it’s not the best fit for your construction business, there are great alternatives, just like the following.
