When a worker arrives at a job site where a construction iPad kiosk from Workyard has been configured, they can search or select their name, enter their unique pin, and provide a photo verification through the Workyard app, which uses facial detection software that will only capture a picture if the camera detects a face.

Step 2

With Kiosk mode, your crew can clock in, clock out, and take breaks. If the iPad time clock kiosk has been configured with Workyard’s built-in automation rules for meal and rest breaks, the employee doesn’t need to clock out during breaks; Workyard will automatically adjust their timecard accordingly.

Does Workyard support Android and Ipad for their time clock kiosks?

Right now, Workyard time clock kiosk is only available on iPadOS and requires an IOS version of 17.5 or higher.

Does Workyard offer facial recognition for kiosk clock in?

No, due to privacy concerns surrounding biometrics, Workyard does not use facial recognition. However, we do use face detection with will only capture an image if a face is detected at clock in.

Can a supervisor clock in a team member if they forget to clock in?

Yes, if a team member forgets to clock in, a supervisor can clock them in on their mobile device using the Workyard app. When the team member is ready to clock out, they can use the kiosk to do so.

How does Workyard use GPS to ensure payroll accuracy?

Every time employees clock in, our built-in GPS tracking will start recording their exact location. Throughout the day Workyard will automatically detect and record the exact time they arrive at each job site they visit and the exact time they leave. All locations visited will be recorded, even if you haven't set them up as a project. For example, a visit to Home Depot. Driving trips will also be automatically detected and their exact driving route including travel time and mileage driven will be recorded.

Unlike most GPS time tracking solutions that just plot a GPS trace on a map, Workyard goes way beyond this by providing you with a usable data set of locations visited, time per location, travel time and mileage.

This gives you complete transparency of where everyone in your crew was for every minute of every time card. With this information you can be confident your payroll is 100% correct.

To make timesheet approvals easy, Workyard's time tracking alerts surface potential mistakes and inaccuracies. For example we'll automatically detect workers clocking in or out while driving and workers clocking in outside of defined project locations. If you do need to adjust time, you can so do so with a couple clicks knowing that you have the GPS tracking log as an audit trail to support your adjustments and ensure accurate timesheets.

Is geofencing required to accurately track employee locations?

Workyard's GPS time tracking technology doesn't require geofences to be setup to provide you with an accurate picture of every location visited throughout the day.

Most geofence time tracking solutions on the market depend on geofences to detect a location was visited, we believe this approach is fundamentally flawed because there are many scenarios whereby workers may visit locations you haven't predetermined or had the time to set up. We use geofences purely to trigger clock in reminders and also tied locations we have detected to your defined projects.

Does your app track my workers' location all the time?

Our gps time clock will only track your employees' location when they are clocked in. The most important thing to know is that when employees are clocked out or on a break, their location data from their mobile devices is no longer shared with your company. As soon as they clock out we will stop tracking their location. We also pause tracking their location when they on a break.

How does your app eliminate buddy punching & time theft?

Workyard completely eliminates the problem of time theft and buddy punching through its use SMS authentication and accurate GPS tracking.

Every worker profile can be linked to a mobile number. When a worker installs our app, their identity is verified by sending then an SMS with a one time passcode. Once their passcode has been verified, their profile is linked to their physical phone.

In addition, our configurable time tracking software allows you to enforce that all clock ins are GPS tracked to ensure that you can always see the exact whereabouts for every single minute of time submitted.

Does your GPS tracking work when the phone is offline?

The short answer is yes it does. You can clock in and submit your time without internet connectivity. Our GPS time clock use satellites not your internet connection to track location. You will eventually need to be back online so that our time tracking app can sync the data it's collected with our cloud services. The app will automatically do this in the background without requiring your input.

Do you track employee mileage & travel time?

Yes. Workyard automatically detects every time a clocked in worker starts a driving trip and records their exact driving route, the miles travelled and the travel time for the trip. Our time tracking software will provide you with convenient dashboards and reports to monitor employee mileage and travel time on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
